Given :- The sum of length and breadth of a rectangle is 17m. If the length is 5m more than the breadth, find the length of the rectangle.  ?

Solution :-

Let us assume that, the breadth of rectangle is B and length is L .

so,

→ Length = 5m more than breadth

→ L = 5 + B .

then,

→ length + breadth = 17

→ (5 + B) + B = 17

→ 5 + 2B = 17

→ 2B = 17 - 5

→ 2B = 12

→ B = 6 .

therefore,

→ The length of the rectangle = 5 + B = 5 + 6 = 11 m (Ans.)

Given:

The sum of length and breadth of a rectangle is 17m. The length is 5m more than the breadth.

To find:

find the length of the rectangle.

Solution:

  • It is given that the sum of length and breadth of a rectangle is 17m.
  • The length is 5m more than the breadth.

Let the breadth = x meters

The length = x+5 meters

According to the question:

Length + Breadth = 17 m

 = > x + x + 5 = 17

 = > 2x + 5 = 17

 = > 2x = 17 - 5

 =  > x =  \dfrac{12}{2}

 = > x = 6 \: meters

Hence, The breadth = 6 meters.

The length = 6 + 5 = 11 meters.
