Given

Sum of length of sides of trapezium is 15cm.

Area of trapezium is 15cm²

To Find

Perpendicular distance between parallel sides

\sf\huge\bold{\underline{\underline{{Solution}}}}

We will apply formula here of area of trapezium and put given values in the formula missing values which is distance between parallel sides can be find.

Area of trapezium =1/2 ×(distance between parallel sides)×(sum of parallel sides)

=>15=1/2×(distance between parallel sides)×(sum of parallel sides)

=>15=1/2×(distance between parallel sides)×15

=>15/15 ×2=distance between parallel sides

=>2=distance between parallel sides

Perpendicular Distance between the parallel sides is \bold{\red{2cm}}

Check

=>1/2×2×15

=>1/2×30

=15cm²

Extra information=>

  • Trapezium having two parallel sides and two non-parallel sides.
  • Sum of all the angles in a trapezium is 360°.

Area is Space or region which is covered by a solid object/figure it is said to be area of that object.

Area depends upon the dimensions of the figure.If dimensions is larger then larger will be the area of that object/figure and vice -versa.
