Answer:

Int.for 3 yrs=800-692 = 102

Int for one yr=102/3 = 34

Int.for 2 yrs=34x2 =68

Principal amt=692-68=Rs.624

The principle amount is 620.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

The sum of money became 692 in 2 years.

The sum of money became 800 in 5 years.

To Find:

The principle amount.

Formula used:

In case of Simple interest

K_{n} =M+(n\times I)     --------------- formula no.01.

Where

K_{n} = sum  for  n nos. of  years

M= principal  amount

n= no. of years

I=simple interest

Solution:

As given,the sum of money became 692 in 2 years.

K_{2} =692       and  I =2 years

Applying the formula no.01.

K_{2} =M+(2\times I)

692=M+2 I  ------------- equation no.01.

As given,the sum of money became 800 in 5 years.

K_{5} =800       and  I =5 years

Applying the formula no.01.

K_{5} =M+(5\times I)

800 =M+5I  ------------ equation no. 02.

Subtracting equation no.01 from  equation no.02, we get.

108=3I

I=36

Putting the I=36 in equation no.02, we get.

800 =M+5\times36

800 =M+180

M=600-180

M=620

Thus, the Principle amount is 620.
