Solution:

Let the required fraction be $\sf\dfrac{x}{y}$.Then,

x + y = 12. --------(i)

And,$\sf\dfrac{x}{y+3}$=$\sf\dfrac{1}{2}$

2x-y = 3. -----(ii)

On adding 1 and 2 we get,

x = 5

On putting x = 5 in equation 1,we get,

y = 7

$\therefore$the required fraction is $\sf\dfrac{5}{7}$.
