Answer:

The present age of the older one is 20 years while that of younger is 15 years

Step-by-step explanation:

let the age of A be x and that of B be y ,

according to the question

x + y = 7(x-y)

6x = 8y

x = 4/3 y

5 years hence ,

x + 5 + y+5 = 9(x+5-y-5)

x + y + 10 = 9x - 9y

8x - 10y = 10

putting x =4/3y

32/3*y - 10y = 10

2y = 30

y = 15

therefore

x = 4*15/3 = 20

this the present age of older one that is x is 20years
