The sum of present ages of 3 persons is 66 years. five years ago ,their ages were the ratio 4:6:7 .To Find Their present ages

\underline{\textbf{ANSWER:-}}

Given    : The sum of present ages of 3 persons is 66 years. five years ago ,their ages were the ratio 4:6:7

To Find : Their present ages

Define their age 5 years ago:

Ratio = 4 : 6 : 7

Let x be the constant ratio

Ratio = 4x : 6x : 7x

Define their current age:

Person 1 = 4x + 5

Person 2 = 6x + 5

Person 3 = 7x + 5

Solve x:

Sum of their age is 66

(4x + 5) + (6x + 5) + (7x + 5) = 66

4x + 5 + 6x + 5 + 7x + 5 = 66

17x + 15 = 66

17x = 66 - 15

17x = 51

x = 3

Find their present age:

Person 1 = 4x + 5 = 4(3) + 5 = 17 years old

Person 2 = 6x + 5 = 6(3) + 5 = 23 years old

Person 3 = 7x + 5 = 7(3) + 5 = 26 years old

\boxed{\textsf{Answer: They are 17, 23 and 26 years old}}
