Step-by-step explanation:

Let the father's age is x

son age is y

A/Q

x+y=60-------(1)

x+6=5(y+6)

x+6=5y+30

x-5y+6-30=0

x-5y-24=0-------(2)

eq.(1)-eq.(2)

x+y-60=0

x-5y-24=0

- +. +

______________

6y-36=0

y=36/6

y=6

x+y=60

x+6=60

x=54

After 6 years:-

father's age is 60 and son age is 12

5:1 is the ratio of their ages after 6 years
