a=5

b=(k+2)

c= -1

sum of roots = -b/a

sum of roots = -(k+2)/5

(k+2)/5= -(sum of roots)

k+2= -5(sum of roots)

k= -5(sum of roots)-2

k= -[5(sum of roots)+2]

sum of roots = 0

k = - (5(0)+2)

k= -(0+2)

k= -2
