The two consecutive numbers are:
x & x+2
x^2 + (x + 2)^2 = 394.
x^2 + x^2 + 4 + 4x = 394.
x^2 + x^2 + 4x = 394 - 4.
2x^2 + 4x = 390.
[ Now divide LHS & RHS by 2 ]
x^2 + 2x - 195 = 0.
x^2 + 15x - 13x - 195 = 0.
x(x + 15) -13(x + 15) = 0.
(x + 15) ( x - 13) = 0.
x = -15 or x = 13.
