The sum of squares of two positive integers is 208. If the square of larger number is 18 times the smaller number , find the number .

Let the smaller number be x
, then the square of larger number will be 18x
Therefore = x^2+18x= 208
x^2+18x-208=0
(x-8)(x+26) = 0
so ,,, x = 8 and x = -26
since we will not take -26
We will take = x = 8 .
Therefore square of larger number = 18×8 = 144
Larger number = √144 = 12 .
Larger number = 12 and Smaller number = 8.
