As either both of them will be even Or both of them will be odd. In both case there sum will be even.

Example of Successor -1

FEW POINTS :-

Successor of an integer which is succeeding it means which is one more than the number.

Successor of A = A +1.

Predecessor of an integer is that number which succeeds it.

Predecessor of A = A -1

Now,  

Successor of -1 = -1 +1 = 0.

and predecessor of -1 = -1-1 = -2.

Now, their sum  = 0 + (-2)  = -2.
