a+ 2d + a+ 6d = 38
2a + 8d = 38 ---- 1
a9 = 37
a+8d = 37 ----- 2
solving 1 and 2
2a + 8d = 38
a + 8d = 37

substitute the value of a= 1 in equ 2
a+ 8d = 37
1 + 8d = 37
8d = 37 - 1
8d = 36
d = 36/8
d = 9/2
