Let their present ages be x and y respectively

so, x + y = 34 solve and take out value of x from eqn1

    Case 2

x = y + 6 then put the value of x from eqn 1

 and replace the value of y as well

The today's priyanka's age = x

The today's Deepika age = y

By the given first condition,

x + y = 34 -------- (i)

By the second condition,

x = y - 6

i.e. x - y = 6

Therefore, x - y = 6 ------------ (ii)

From equation (i) and (ii)

x + y = 34

x - y  = 6                          (Eliminating y)

x = 20

Therefore, Present age of Priyanka = 20 years

Present age of Deepika = 34 - (Age of priyanka)

                                        = 34 - 20

                                        = 14 years

Therefore, Present age of Deepika is 14 years
