Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

The sum of the ages of A and B is 30 years . just after five years, A will be three times older than B.

To find:-

find their present ages.

Solution:-

Let the present age of B=X years

then given that

Sum of ages of A and B =30 years

= Age of A+Age of B=30

=>Age of A+X=30

=>Age of A=30-X------(1)

After 5 years

Age of B=X+5 years

Age of A=30-X+5=35-X

According to the given problem

after five years, A will be three times older than B

=>35-X=3(X+5)

=>35-X=3X+15

=>-X-3X=15-35

=>-4X=-20

=>X=-20/-4

=>X=5

age of B=5 years

and from (1)

Age of A=30-5=25 years

Answer:-

Present Age of A=25 years

Present Age of B=5 years
