Let the age be x

After 5 years x + x + 5 =175

2x +5 = 175

2x = 170

X = 85

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

x + y = 50

(x-5)(y-5) = 175

x = 50-y

(50-y-5)(y-5)=175

(45-y)(y-5)=175

45y-y sq -225+5y =175

50y - y sq = 400

y sq -50y +400=0

y sq -10y -40y+400=0

y(y-10)-40(y-10)

y = 10 or y =40

If y=10 then x = 40

If y=40 then x =10

Hope it will help u
