Answer:

Let the father’s present age :F years

Let the present son’s age : S years

As per first sentence sum of their present ages are 60.

Therefore, Father's age + Son’s age = 60

F + S = 60…..(1)

From above equation we get

F = 60 - S…(2)

Due to God's grace both lives for ‘x’ years .

After ‘x’years their ages are

Father's age : F + x

Son’s age : S + x

But sum of their ages after x years are 120.

(F + x) + (S + x) = 120

F + S + 2x = 120….. (3)

Substitute F + S in above equation from (1)

60 + 2x = 120

2x = 120 - 60

2x = 60

x = 60/2

x = 30

Means after 30 years their sum is 120.

As after ‘x’ years the son’s age will be the Father’s present age.

S + x = F……….. (4)

S + 30 = F……. (5)

Now sub (2) in (5)

S + 30 = 60 - S

S + S = 60 - 30

2S = 30

S = 30/2

S = 15

The present age of son is 15 years and Father's age is 4 5 years.
