Step-by-step explanation:

let

the age of mr Daniel and his daughter be X

given

sum of their age is 60

5years ago the ratio of their age was 1:4

so

the age of mr Daniel=4x-5

the age of his daughter=x-5

A T Q

=>4x-5+x-5=60

=>5x=60+10

=>5x=70

=>X=70/5=14

now putting the value of X to find the age of mr Daniel and his daughter

hence:-

the age of mr Daniel=4x-5

=4*14-5

=51years

the age of his daughter=x-5

=14-5

=9years
