So, x - y = 3
y = x-3

Sum of x and y = x+y = 15
x+x-3=15 (since, y=x-3)
2x = 15 + 3 = 18
x = 18/2
x = 9
y= 9-3 = 6
Therefore, the ages of Prakash and his brother are 9 years and 6 years respectively.
