let, after 10 years Seema age is 8x
and after 10 years Gaurav age is 9x
therefore their present age is 8x-10 & 9x-10
ATQ, 8x-10+9x-10= 31
or, 17x-20=31
or, 17x= 31+20
or, 17x= 51
or, x= 51/17
or, x=3
therefore their present age is 8×3-10, 9×3-10
=24-10, 27-10
=14, 17
