Age of Tobu be y

Given :

x + y = 18 ____ (1)
x - y = 4 _____ (2)


Eliminate the y term by adding equation (1) and (2).

(x + y) + (x - y) = 18 + 4
=> 2x = 22
=> x = 22/2 = 11


Now,
Putting the value of x in equation (1).

x + y = 18
=> 11 + y = 18
=> y = 18 - 11 = 7



Hence,
Age of Sabbu = x = 11 years
Age of Tobu = y = 7 years
