Given :

➙ The sum of the ages of two brothers is 36 years

➙ the difference between their ages is 10 years

To Find :

➙ The ages of both brothers .

Considering :

➙ Let the age of the big brother be 'x' so according to Question the smaller brother will be 10 yrs smaller by him i.e , 'x-10'

Solution :

  • According to Question :

x - 10 + x = 36

᠉ 2x = 36 + 10

᠉ 2x = 46

᠉ x = 46/2

᠉ x = 23

THEREFORE ,

The age of big brother = x = 23

The age of smaller brother = 23 - 10 = 13
