Then by the given question, x+y=16; or, x=16-y and
x-4=3(y-4)
or, x-4=3y-12
or, x-3y=-12+4
or, x-3y=-8
or, 16-y-3y=-8
or, -4y=-8-16
or, -4y=-24
or, y=6 yrs.
x=16-6=10 yrs.
Then by the given question, x+y=16; or, x=16-y and
