⇒ 3(V + 4) = (M + 4)

⇒ 3V + 12 = 36 - V + 4    [from (1)]

⇒ 3V + V = 36 + 4 - 12

⇒ 4V = 28

⇒ V = 28/4 =  7

Hence, the present age of VIraj is 7 years
