Let their ages be x and y.

We will add (1) and (2) and get the value of x.

x + y = 36 years...(1)

x - y = 10 years...(2)

2x = 46 years

x = 23 years

Putting the value of x in (1), we will get the value of y.

x + y = 36 years

23 years + y = 36 years

y = 36 years - 23 years

y = 13 years

So, the ages of the brothers are 23 years and 13 years.
