Let the age of father be X

age of son be x-55

Now after 16 years

Age of father =(X-55)+15=x-39

Age of son =x+15

Now it is also said that after 16 yrs the father's age will become 4 times

So, x-15=4(x-39)

x-15=4x-156

Now transposing the variable on the one side and the number on the another

15

So, x-4x = -156+15

-3x =-141

X=-141/-3

X=47

So, X =47

Let son age = X

let father age= 2x

the sum of son and father age = 55

ACC to Q

After 16 = X+ 16

2x+16

55 +16= 71

sum = X+16+2x+16=71

3x+32=71

3x=71-32

3x=39

X=39/3

X=13

son age =13 +16=29

father age=13*2=26+16 =42
