The sum of the current ages of Daniel and Dinara is 115 years. Five years ago twice the age of Dinara was the same as
thrice the age of Daniel. What is Dinara's present age?

x+y =115

(x-5)3=2(y-5)

let the present age of Dinara's be = x years

And

let the present age of Daniel be = y years

ACCORDING TO THE GIVEN QUESTION

x + y = 115 ... Equation ( i )

FIVE YEARS AGO THEIR AGES WILL BE

( x - 5 ). And ( y - 5 ) Respectively.

2( x - 5 ) = 3 ( y - 5 )

2x - 3y - 10 + 15 = 0

2x - 3y + 5 = 0 ... Equation ( ii )

Multiply Equation i by 2 we have.

2x + 2y = 230 ... Equation ( iii )

Now, Subtract both the Equations i,e Equation ii and iii we have.

-5y = -235

y = 47

put value of y in Equation i we get.

x = 68

So, the present age of Dinara's is 47 years.

And

The present age of Daniel is 68 years.
