Answer:

the required number is 17

Step-by-step explanation:

let the number in tens place is x

let the number in unit place is y

the two digits number will be 10x + y

sum of the digits is 8

x + y = 8 equ (1)

y = 6x + 1

substitute y in equ (1)

x + 6x + 1 = 8

7x = 8 - 1

7x = 7

x = 7/7 = 1

y = 6x + 1

y = 6(1) + 1

y = 7

the required number is

= 10x + y

= 10(1) + 7

= 10 + 7

= 17
