EXPLANATION.

Let the digit at ten's place be = x

Let the digit at unit place be = y

original number = 10x + y

reversing number = 10y + x

According to the question,

Case = 1.

The sum of digit of two digit number = 9

=> x + y = 9 ..... (1)

Case = 2.

Nine times the number is twice the number

obtained by reversing the order of the digit.

=> 9 ( 10x + y) = 2 ( 10y + x)

=> 90x + 9y = 20y + 2x

=> 88x = 11y

=> 8x = y ..... (2)

put the value of equation (2) in equation (1)

we get,

=> x + 8x = 9

=> 9x = 9

=> x = 1

put the value of x = 1 in equation (2)

we get,

=> 8(1) = y

=> y = 8

Therefore,

original number = 10x + y = 10 + 8 = 18
