let the number be xy.
x + y = 9 \\ 10x + y  + 45= 10y + x \\ 9x - 9y =  - 45 \\ x - y =  - 5 \\
subtract both equations
2y = 14 \\ y = 7 \\ x + y = 9 \\ x + 7 = 9 \\ x = 2
so the number is 27.
