The sum of the digit of the 2-digit number is 13 and the difference between the number and that formed by reversing the digit is 27. Find the number.

We can express xy as 10∗x+y

Now according to given scenario-

x+y=13 -(1)

Also,

10∗x+y−10∗y−x=27

This implies

9∗x−9y=27

Hence

x−y=3 -(2)

Hence x=8

Substituting x in (2) we get-

y=5
