The sum of the digits of a 2 digit number is 12 . If 18 is added to it the digits are reversed . Find the number.

Let, the two digits no. be 10x + y.

ATQ;

X + Y = 12( given)...(1)

and,

18+(10x+Y)= 10y+ x

18+ 10x + y= 10y + x

10x - x + y -10 y = 18

9x - 9y = 18...(2)

Elimination method;

(1) × 9= 9x + 9y = 108

(2)×1= 9x - 9y = 18.

18 y = 90.

= y =. 90/18=5

now, putting the value of 'y' in (1);

x+ y = 12

x+ 5= 12

x= 12- 5= 7

hence, the value of X= 7

and, y= 5..so the no. is 75(ans).
