let the digits be x and y

so, x + y = 6 (sum of the digits is 6)      --------- (1)

and the number can be written as 10x + y ( 10x is tens position and y is unit position.. ex: 67 = 60 + 7 = 6 * 10 + 7 )

so, if 18 is added to the number,

10x + y + 18 = 10y + x (since the digits are interchanged)     -------- (2)

solving these 2 equations,

we get x = 2 and y = 4

so.. if u see 24 is the number.. sum of the digits is 2 + 4 = 6

and if 18 is added to 24, 42 is the ans which is interchanging the original number..
