Let the numbers be x and (12-x)

Given- [ 10x + (12-x)] + 36= [10(12-x) + x]

10x +12-x+36=120-10x+x

10x-x+12+36=120-9x

9x+48=120-9x

9x+9x=120-48. [Transposition]

18x=72

x=72/18

=4

Therefore, the numbers are 4 and 8.
