Answer:

Answer is: 4

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's take that unknown two  numbers as x and y respectively;

product of the two numbers x*y=12;

sum of the two numbers =>x+y=8   ,x²+y²+2xy=64  =>x²+y²+2(12)=64

                                                                                        x²+y²=40  ////----->1

the difference between the two numbers{x-y] can be calculated as following,

   (x-y)²=x²+y²-2xy

           from  equ 1=>   =40-2(12)

                           (x-y)²  =16

                            x-y=4  /ans
