Let the digits be x and y such that

Therefore the no. is 10x + y

Given x + y = 9 》 x = 9 - y .... ( 1 )

Also if we reverse the digits and multiply it by 2 , the new no. is 9 times the original no.

i.e ., 9 ( 10x + y ) = 2 ( 10y + x )

90x + 9y. = 20 y + 2x

88 x = 11 y

x = y /8. ... ( 2)

From ( 1 ) & ( 2 ) , we have

y/8 = 9 - y

y/ 8 + y = 9

9y / 8 = 9

y = 9 × 8 / 9 = 8

Put y = 8 in ( 1 )

x = 9 -8 = 1

Required no. is 10 ( 1) + 8 = 18
