=>y-x = 3 -----(2)

Now, from (1)and (2)

=> x-x+y+y=12

=>2y=12

=>y=12/2

=>y= 6

Now,

=>x+y= 9

=>x+6=9

=>x=9-6

=>x= 3

Hence, the number is 36
