Step-by-step explanation:

Let the digits at ones place be x. Then,

the digits at tens place = (12 - x)

Original number = 10(12 - x) + x

= 120 - 10x + x

= 120 - 9x

After interchanging the digits ,

the digits at ones place = (12 - x)

the digits at tens place = x

New number = 10x + 12 - x

= 9x + 12

According to question ,

New number - Original number = 18

=> (9x + 12) - (120 - 9x) = 18

=> 9x+ 12 - 120 + 9x = 18

=> 18x - 108 = 18

=> 18x = 18 + 108

=> 18x = 126

=> x = 126/18

=> x = 7

Hence , the digits at ones place = 7

digits at tens place = 12 - 7 = 5.

Hence , the number is 57.
