Answer:

Let the digit at the ten's place be x and that at the unit's place be y

then the number be 10x + y = 10

According to questions :-

x + y = 10 .......(i)eq.

x = y² - 2 ......(ii) eq.

Now subtract (i)eq to (ii)eq.

x + y - x - y² = 10 + 2

y + y² = 12

y² - y - 12 = 0

y² - 4y + 3y - 12 = 0

(y² - 4y) + (3y - 12) = 0

y (y - 4) + 3 ( y - 4 ) = 0

(y + 3)(y - 4) = 0

y + 3 = 0 or y - 4 = 0

y = -3 or y = 4

Therefore the digit will be 74...
