let the digits be x and y

then, A.T.Q.

10x+y=8

10x+y-10y+x=18

11x-9y=18

11x-y=2

Now we have two equations

10x+y=8

11x-y=2

solving the equations by substitution method

110x+y=88

110x-y=20

- + -

2y=68

y=34

substituting this value in equation 1, we have

10x+(34)=8

10x=8-34

10x=-26

x=-26/10

Answer:

The Number is 53.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

Sum of the digits = 8

Difference between the number and number with interchanged digits is 18

To find : The number

Solution : Consider the -

  • Digit at unit place be x
  • Ten's place be y.

Number formed by reversing the digits = 10y + x

According to the given question -

x + y = 8  --------- ( I )

and ( 10y + x ) - ( 10x + y ) = 18

9 ( y - x ) = 18

y - x = 2 ------- ( II )

By solving (I) and (II) we get -

x = 3,y = 5

Hence, the number = 10y + x

⇒ 10 × 5 + 3

⇒ 53.

The Number is 53.
