Given : For n= 6 and d= 2 , $S_6=48$

Put all the values in the above formula :-

$S_6=\dfrac{6}{2}(2a+(6-1)2)\\\\\Rightarrow\ 48=(3)(2a+10)\\\\\Rightarrow\ 2a+10=\dfrac{48}{3}=16\\\\\Rightarrow\ 2a=16-10=6\\\\\Rightarrow\ a=\dfrac{6}{2}=3$

nth term = $a_n=a+(n-1)d$

For n= 4

$a_4=3+(4-1)(2)=3+6=9$
