Concept:

When a number consists m numbers from 0,1,....,9, provided that first numbers cannot be zero, then that number is called m-digit number.

Given:

Given that, One of the number is the largest 3 digits number and another is the smallest 2 digits numbers.

Find:

The sum of the above mentioned two numbers.

Solution:

Here first number is the largest of all 3 digits number.

3 digits numbers are: 100, 101, ......, 999

So the largest three digits number is given by = 999

Another number is the smallest of all two digits numbers.

Two digits numbers are: 10, 11, ....., 99

So, the smallest two digits number is = 10

Now the sum of this two mentioned number =999+10=1009

Hence the required sum of the smallest two digits number and largest three digits number is given by 1009.
