Now, x+y=7.....(|)
so adding 7 in numerator and subtracting 2 from denominator it becomes
(x+7)/(y-2)=2
so x+7=2y-4
x-2y=-11.....(||)
Subtracting (||) from (|),we get
3y=18
y=6
substitute value of y in (|),
x+6=7
x=1
therefore,
x=1
y=6
