Eq 1:- x + y = 2y -3

         x - y = -3       ....(i)

Eq 2:- x - 1 / y - 1 = 1/2

       2x - 2 = y - 1

       2x - y = 1          .....(ii)

       

     x - y = -3

   2x - y = 1

   - x   = - 4

      x = 4

Put x=4 in equation (i)

    x - y = -3

    4 - y = -3

     - y = -3 -4

     -y = -7

       y = 7

∴ the fraction is 4/7
