The sum of the population of two village is 500. If the Population of the more populous village increases by 20% and the population of the other village increases by 40% . Then total population will become 630. If male to female ratio in the more populous village is5:2. Then what is the number of females in the village .​

Answer:

Let X be more populous village and Y be less populous

It is given X+Y=500

X(1.20) +Y(1.40) = 630

we put X=500-Y in this equation

(500-Y)×1.2+Y(1.4)=630

600-1.2Y +1.4Y=630

0.2Y=630-600=30

Y=30/0.2=150

X=350

In this village m/f =5/2=5x/2x (m=5x and f=2x)

m+f=7x=350

x=350/7= 50

f=2×50=100
