x+y=60

6 years ago,

5x=y

5x-y=0

-

hence 2 equitation

-x-y+60=-0

-5x+y+0=0

-6x+60=0

-6x=-60

x=10

present age of son=10

sons age after six years=16

there are alternate method but this is most suitable and easiest one
