Answer:

20 years

Step-by-step explanation:

PRESENT AGES:

Father's age be 'x'

son's age be 'y'

Given,

The sum of the present ages of a father and his son is 60 years.so,

x+y=60. _1

Also given,

Six years ago, father's age was five times the age of the son.so,

x-6=5(y-6)

x-5y-24=0. _2

By subtracting equations 1&2 we get,

6y=84

y=14

After 6 years,son's age will be y+6 i.e.14+6=20 years

Answer:

Let the sons present Age be x years and father's present age will be (60 - x) years.

According to Question :

➳ (60 - x) - 6 = 5(x - 6)

➳ 54 - x = 5x - 30

➳ 6x = 84

➳ x = 84/6

➳ x = 14 years

Therefore,the age of his son after 6 years will be (x + 6) years = 20 years.
