Answer:

Hi ,

at present

_________

father age = x years

son age = 60 - x

after 14 years

_________

father age = ( x + 14 ) years

son age = ( 60 - x + 14 )

= ( 74 - x ) years

according to the problem given ,

x + 14 = 3 ( 74 - x )

x + 14 = 222 - 3x

x + 3x = 222 - 14

4x = 208

x = 208 / 4

x = 52

Therefore ,

at present ,

father age = x = 52 years

son age = 60 - 52

= 8 years

I hope this helps you.

:)
