Hey Dear,

◆ Answer -

After 12 years,

Hari's age : Mohan's age = 9 : 5

● Explaination -

Let x & y be the present ages of Hari & Mohan.

Presently,

x + y = 2 (x-y)

x + y = 2x - 2y

x - 3y = 0

x = 3y ...(1)

4 years ago,

(x-4) + (y-4) = 1.5 [(x-4) - (y-4)]

x + y - 8 = 1.5x - 6 - 1.5y + 6

0.5x - 2.5y = -8

x - 5y = -16 ...(2)

Substitute x = 3y

3y - 5y = -16

-2y = -16

y = 8 yrs

Substituting y = 8,

x = 3×8

x = 24 yrs

After 12 years, ratio of their ages,

(x+12)/(y+12) = (24+12) / (8+12)

(x+12)/(y+12) = 36 / 20

(x+12)/(y+12) = 9/5

Therefore, ratio of their ages will be 9/5 after 12 years.

Hope this helped..
