X + Y = 123...... 1

After 4 years

 both Mr.X and Mr.Y will grow 4 years

(X+4) = 6 + (1/2)(Y+4)

 X = 77, Y= 46

so X+4 = 3y/2 +(3X4)/2 + 6

X+4 = 3y/2 + 6 +6

X+4 = 3y/2 + 12

multiply whole equation by 2

2x +8 =3y  +24

2x -3y = 24 - 8

2x -3y = 16................... (2)

multiply eq (1) by 2

2x +2y = 246...............(3)

eq (3) take away eq (2)

2x -2x +2y-(-3y)  = 246-16

+5y = 230

y =  230/ 5=46     and from (1)........ x  =  123-46= 7 7

Mr X = 77   and Ms Y = 46

77 + 4 = 81

46 +4= 50

one and half times 50  is 75  plus 6 equals 81
