According to the question,
R+r = 140 ----(1)
R-r = 88 ----(2)
(1)+(2) ,we get,
2R = 140+88 = 228
R = 228/2 = 114 cm.
Now,
114+r = 140
r = 140-114 = 36 cm.
Diameter of the larger circle = 2×R = 2×114 = 228 cm.
Diameter of the smaller circle = 2×r = 2×36 = 72 cm.
